Our Staff

Christine Carswell

Animal Health Technician

After graduating from Olds College with both a Veterinary Medical Receptionist certificate and an Animal Health Technologist diploma, I began working at Highview Animal Clinic in 2015. The favourite part of my job is the challenge of the work – every day is different, and animals are always involved!

I grew up on a farm just west of High River, and have always loved animals. My husband and I now share our home with a dog and three cats.

Shelley Glatt

Animal Health Technician

I graduated from Olds College, Animal Health Technologist program in 1985. I have spent 20+ years working emergency and am now semi-retired working in our mixed practice.

I was born and raised in Calgary. I got married in 1991 and have 2 creative children, a daughter studying pre-vet medicine at the U of C and a son working on media/computer sciences.

We currently live on an acreage south of Calgary with two dogs, two cats and two horses. Outside of family, work, 4-H, polo-cross, and gardening, I am enjoying a new endeavour on conditioning myself and my horse for endurance trail.

Kristen Mills

Animal Health Technician

I was born and raised on a mixed farm near Champion AB and discovered my love for animals at a very young age. I earned my Diploma in Animal Health Technology from Lakeland College in Vermilion AB and started working at the Highview Animal Clinic in June of 2017.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time on my family farm with my husband and various animals.

Laci Price

Animal Health Technician

I was born in Calgary, and my family moved around Southern Alberta a few times as a young child. We then settled down in High River, where I grew up on my family’s ranch.

I started to work at Highview Animal Clinic as a tech assistant in 2008 for a year before I went to Olds College to take the Animal Health Tech Program, graduating in 2011. I returned after a practicum at Moore Equine to work here in the fall of 2011.

I am married to a wonderful man named Mathew, and we welcomed our first baby in August 2015 – a beautiful baby girl named Winrey. I enjoy riding horses in my spare time, throughout my life showing different horses for my family in reining competitions. I also enjoy physical activities like weight lifting and getting outside on a nice day. I have a border Collie who loves to play catch and has been a joy to train.

Jayden Wagner

Animal Health Technician

I graduated from Olds College with a diploma in Animal Health Technology in 2020. As part of my final semester I completed a practicum here at Highview Animal Clinic and afterwards accepted a job which included a move to High River with my cat, Tuff.

I have always had a passion for animals and am so grateful I get to do what I do every day. I love the hustle and bustle of the job, getting to see all the cute faces that come into the clinic, and feel especially thankful when we get to send them home happy and healthy.

I grew up in Calgary, but always loved to visit my family farm in Duffield and enjoyed time with my aunt’s horses in Strathmore. On my days off, I spend time with my chatty cat, and go into the city to visit family and friends.

Cassidy Thatcher

Veterinary Assistant

I was born in Calgary and grew up just Southwest of High River on an acreage with horses, dogs and cats. I graduated from Lakeland College with my Veterinary Medical Assistant Certificate in 2017. I started working at the Highview Animal Clinic in June of 2017.

In my spare time, I enjoy riding my horse, working out, and spending time outdoors. It has always been a passion of mine to work with animals, and I love learning about them.

Joel Thiessen

Office Manager

I grew up in BC and moved to Alberta in 2007. I met Krista in 2010; we got married and now have two boys. We are part owners of the Highview Animal Clinic, and although I work mainly from home, you will see me at the clinic as much as I can.

In my off time, I enjoy camping, hunting, hiking, shooting and strength sports. Daily walks with the boys are always interesting, and our vacations are usually about taking my sons to see family.

Kimberley Cabelguen

Veterinary Receptionist

I was born in Alberta but moved numerous times while growing up to many different provinces, ending up back home in Alberta, where I stayed home for 10 years with the support of my husband to raise our three amazing boys.

Once our kids got older, I enrolled at Bow Valley College, where I received my Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate. I started working at Highview Animal Clinic in October of 2013.

In my spare time, I like to read, spend time with my husband and kids, and go out for walks with our Maltese Jake.

Terri McDuffe

Veterinary Receptionist

I was born in High River and have worked at Highview Animal Clinic since January 2002.
