Fracture Repair

Broken bones are just as serious for your pet as they are for you. If your animal companion sustains a fracture, repair and proper healing is essential to ensuring that he or she recovers as quickly and fully as possible.
Repairing a fracture starts with diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) to determine the location, severity, and type of fracture. Highview Animal Clinic offers in-house state-of-the-art digital radiography so we can help your pet as quickly as possible.
Some fractures can be healed with external support, pain management and physical therapy; others may require orthopedic surgery. Your Highview Animal Clinic veterinarian can determine the right course of treatment for your pet—but it’s important not to wait if you believe your pet has a broken bone. Many simple fractures can be treated by the veterinarians at Highview Animal Clinic. Complex injuries may require referral to an orthopedic surgeon.
