I was born and raised in Antigonish NS, then attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro NS. I completed three years of a B.Sc in Agriculture with a major in Animal Science before being accepted to the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown PEI.

After graduating in May 2008, I moved to High River along with my two cats Fozzie and Otis to start working with Dr. Dave Dempsey at Highview Animal Clinic. One year later I acquired a rescued racing greyhound named Sadie.

In 2010 I met my husband Joel and acquired a lab named Parker. We got married in 2012 and that same year we became part-owners at Highview Animal Clinic. In October 2014 we welcomed our first baby, a son named Lane and December of 2016 brought our second son, Frankie.

When not at work I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, camping, running, hiking, baking and making trips to NS to visit family and friends.

I was born and raised in Nigeria, and moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan for my high school years. I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Animal Bioscience in 2016, and then received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. I worked in a rural mixed animal practice in North Battleford, Saskatchewan for 2 years before relocating to High River. I enjoy the variety and diversity that working in a mixed animal practice brings.

When not working, I enjoy running, horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing, snowboarding, and visiting family in Saskatchewan whenever possible.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Adrianna Bissonnette

I grew up in British Columbia with a lifelong love for animals and a curiosity for science and medicine that naturally led me to veterinary medicine.

I grew up in British Columbia with a lifelong love for animals and a curiosity for science and medicine that naturally led me to veterinary medicine. After completing my Associate of Science degree at Thompson Rivers University, I went on to earn my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024, graduating with Great Distinction.

I recently completed a small animal rotating internship where I developed a strong foundation in emergency medicine, specialty care, and collaborative team practice. I’m passionate about mixed animal practice—it allows me to stay versatile and continue building my skills with both large and small animals, while providing thoughtful, comprehensive care to clients and their animals.

When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me exploring the outdoors—hiking, camping, or skiing—curled up with a good book, or baking something sweet. I have two beloved cats, Sally and Christopher, who bring a lot of love (and a bit of chaos) to my days.

I'm originally from rural southeast Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon in 2016 to pursue my undergraduate and veterinary education at the University of Saskatchewan.

I'm originally from rural southeast Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon in 2016 to pursue my undergraduate and veterinary education at the University of Saskatchewan. I graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with my DVM in 2022, and spent over two years working in both mixed and small animal practices around Saskatoon. In the fall of 2024, my partner Dylan and I relocated to Calgary where I joined the Highview Animal Clinic team as a small animal veterinarian.

When I am not in the clinic, you can usually find me fly fishing, camping, exploring the mountains with our dog Ruger, or visiting friends and family in Saskatchewan!
